We created our chapter in 2004 after struggling to make sense of the current political environment and a shared desparation to "do something". We found each other through the Progressive Democrats of America.
Lifelong Democrats, active in politics, we found that the Democratic Party did not offer us a platform to work on all the issues we thought we were important because they are tied to the party platform. And, we are still committed to the Democratic party. And, we want to address the issues that are important to us and a good portion of the American people.
We want to reach out to the Green party, the disenfranchised Republicans, and those fed up with the Democratic party and show them that there is a way back into the Big Tent Party.
We often find ourselves working with the Peace Alliance, the local Democrats of the Napa Valley Club (of which we are both members), U.N.C.O.I.L., MoveOn.org and CodePink. We believe that there are many like-minded Napans out there who are just waiting to be asked to participate.
So, please take that first step and join. We do not hound you with emails; we know that most of you are already on many email lists. We make every effort to keep our calendar updated; although, we're not always on top of everything. But if you join, you can help. You can help us register voters, reach out, stuff envelopes, write letters, walk the streets for change. The more of us that stand together, the greater chance we have to influence policy and, therefore, change.
Please join us. (You will receive emails about local PDA activities)
